Hometown: Crested Butte, CO
I have been a competitive runner since 1999, when I first toed a starting line as a 7th grader in Junior High. After competing in many New York State championship races, I received an athletic scholarship at Edinboro University of PA. While at Edinboro, I earned All-American honors at the 2007 NCAA II cross country championships. During the summers of 2008 & 2009, I lived and trained in Flagstaff, AZ as well as Mammoth Lakes, CA. This is where I realize my passion for trail running and longer distances, putting in 120+ miles/weeks and getting my first taste fof altitude training. After graduating from Edinboro in 2010 with degrees in Exercise Science, Fitness Management, and Athletic Coaching, I moved to Colorado with the intention of becoming an ultra-marathoner. Just one year later, I ran my first ultra. The Devil Mountain Ultra 50 Miler in Pagosa Springs, CO. The following year (2012), I stepped up my training, and set a course record at the Collegiate Peaks 25 in April, picked up a sponsorship with VFuel, finished a somewhat disappointing 9th at the San Juan Solstice 50 in June, won the Gothic to CB 1/3 Marathon in July, and placed 2nd in my first ever 100 miler, the Cascade Crest 100 in August. In December I applied to be an Altra Ambassador, and the first week of the new year found out I had been excepted. I am now gearing up for a big year in 2013, and excited to see what the next 12 months will bring!
