Hometown: Gunnison, CO

Age 24

I was born in Jackson Wyoming in the year if 1988. As a youngster my family took me Nordic skiing, which became my first endurance love. I Nordic Skied all through High School and into my first year of College, thus I arrived in Gunnison Colorado! My first year of College I discovered Heartman Rocks and my life has never been the same.

Mountain Biking Hartman’s Rocks and the surrounding Gunnison valley was to say the least… #*&%ing FUN! My first real race was the Growler (only the 32 mile… soon I would discover the pain of the 64 mile) and I was hooked. I was a relatively young and very inexperienced mountain bike racer, but it didn’t matter I was having fun and a few races latter I got my Pro license. From then on with the constant guidance form Rhett Griggs and Dave Ochs I have settled into being a true mountain biker!

Favorite Pre-race/Post-race foods: Pre=Apple Cider Vinegar (one shot), Post=Raw elk meat

Bike of Choice: Giant XTC Advanced SL 29er…or a Razor RipRider 360 Caster Tricycle

Race of Choice: I would have to say the Growler 64, or the Whiskey Off Road

Favorite Doctor: That cowboy from Wyoming…I think his name is Rhett?

Favorite Mexican Dish:  Guacamole

What has cycling meant to me?:  Cycling is a way of life for me! Perhaps this sounds cliché, but it really is. I just love every second I’m on a bike. Be it a townie, road bike or Mountain Bike

What do you do to give back to cycling?:  I enjoy working with youth cycling programs. I’m the head coach for the Gunnison High School Mountain Bike Team and its very cool to see kids have fun out on the trails. I also like to be a positive ambassador to cycling.

Dr. Griggs has taught me:  Dr Griggs has taught me how to be in the pain cave for as long as possible and enjoy every second of it

Favorite Role Model: My Dad, he is one hell of a hard worker, and my mom because she tries to make me fat

Favorite bird to hunt and why: Big Bird, I’ve never seen that rare species in real life, but that would be one hell of a feast
